  • This restaurant is positioned as fine dining, with excellent quality and creativity in the food, along with attentive and thoughtful service. It’s a great choice for business dinners or gatherings with friends. The only drawback is that some of the tables are placed quite close together, making it easy to overhear conversations from neighboring tables. Because of this, it might not be the best option for private chats or dates.

  • Per usual another great Jean Georges restaurant. #18 for us! The server, Christian (sorry if I misspelled it) was absolutely fabulous. We shared great stories as he provided wonderful food! The coddled egg with caviar was insane! Also loved the tempura squash. The tuna tartare was amazing. Can not wait for #19!

  • our experience was exquisite. the cocktails were elegant and refreshing. the ambiance is stylish and midtown cool… we started with the fluke & octopus as suggested by our waiter. the fluke was a standout - be sure to wrap it in the shiso and cucumber on the side. for the mains we ordered the eggplant and the bass. do NOT sleep on the eggplant. it was divine. it had the texture of a white fish almost, with a gentle crust and beautiful finish. the leeks did little for me but they allowed the eggplant to shine. the bass was also special, with the mushrooms and undeniably amazing broth. for dessert we had the fig tart and the chocolate cake (or chocolate something…) both delectable, kind of insane actually. do not miss dessert. service was attentive and not overbearing. thanks to christian and christian for taking care of us. total bill came to $450 (before tip) for 2 with a few drinks each. not a cheap place by any standard.

  • Pretty good restaurant week deal, esp the dessert included, but overall a slight disappointment. The ceviche needed more to go with the flsh, although the tomato dish was good. The chicken was excellent, but the hake was a big disappointment, the fish dissolved in your mouth without any texture. The desserts were quite good. Service was erratic, it’s strange when you can’t find your server and there are seven people in the restaurant standing around doing nothing. Atmosphere was nice except the pot of grasses in the middle would be so much better with flowers.

  • Four Twenty Five by Jean-Georges was an exceptional experience—easily a 10/10. The atmosphere is sophisticated and sexy, with a stylish after-work crowd and diners from all over. The upstairs dining room gives major The Grill vibes in the best way. Service was warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. We went during Restaurant Week and I couldn’t recommend it more. The fluke sashimi starter was light and flavorful, and the Hake (recommended by our server) was perfectly cooked with a delicious green sauce. The jerk-spiced black angus chuck was also a standout—bold and rich. For dessert, the cookie flight was the perfect sweet ending, with enough to take home.

  • This wasn’t our first time dining at this beautiful restaurant, and it definitely won’t be our last. It’s become one of our favorite spots for a post-show dinner in the city, and it never disappoints. We love the caviar dishes, and the steak is truly one of the best we’ve had anywhere (and we’re very picky when it comes to steak!). I also have to mention the strawberry dessert — it’s light, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. The ambience is another reason we keep coming back — warm, sophisticated, and perfect for a relaxing, memorable evening.

  • We had the tasting menu here for our anniversary dinner. It was an excellent choice. We started with a drink at the bar. The bartender was pleasant and made us some excellent cocktails to get started. There is an Asian overtone that runs through the meal (the coddled egg, the tuna and the beef all have Asian influences). Having lived in Japan at one time, we like that a lot. Everything was delicious, but I would say the highlights for us were the beet salad and the Wagyu beef. The salad was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavors. The beef, served with pistachio broccoli, which was also excellent, was done perfectly. We asked for rare and were glad we did with such delicious meat. The sauce with it is also delicious but the meat itself is the star. You’ll just need to try it! The Strawberry shortcake, and this is from someone that doesn’t usually even eat dessert, was outstanding! They also gave us an extra lemon meringue-like dish for our anniversary. The dining room is constantly busy with staff, but they never made us feel like they were hovering over us. They were always very pleasant and friendly and took the time to explain and answer our questions. A pricey meal yes, but worth the price if that’s what you want. It is very fine dining in midtown Manhattan after all.
